  •    Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island
  •    Greater Sudbury and vicinity

  •    Manitoulin - Blind River - Killarney

Current details:
Heavy rain continues today.

Hazard:
20 to 30 mm of rain.

Timing:
Continuing through this afternoon or evening.

Discussion:
A low pressure system is bringing another round of rain to the area. The ground, already near saturation, has a reduced ability to absorb further rainfall.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details.

  •    Agawa - Lake Superior Park
  •    Chapleau - Gogama

Current details:
Freezing rain this morning into this afternoon.

Hazards:
Icy surfaces due to freezing rain.
Ice accretion or build-up of 1 to 3 mm.

Timing:
This morning, continuing into the afternoon.

Discussion:
Freezing rain is expected beginning early this morning. Freezing rain will change to rain early this afternoon, however areas of higher terrain may see freezing rain continue through the afternoon. Areas close to the shore of Lake Superior may see a changeover to rain later this morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
