SooToday.com has heard again from two Saultbies vacationing in Waikiki, staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village directly on the beach.

They report that the expected tsunami has been more of a pussycat than a lion.

"It turned out to be somewhat of a non-event, at least to this point in time," say the vacationers, who didn't want their names posted. "We did see the water sucked out of the area in an ebb-and-flow situation, but that is about all."

The couple reports there are now some people back on the beach, though not too many.

Experts at the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii are saying Hawaii dodged a bullet as the tsunami warnings are now cancelled.

People who were evacuated could be returning to their homes shortly, media are reporting.

Back in Chile, President Michelle Bachelet is saying that more than two million people have been affected by earthquake.
