A 37-year-old Sault Ste. Marie man is facing multiple charges after another man was threatened and his car was struck by a hatchet, City Police report.

A 37-year-old Sault Ste. Marie man is facing multiple charges after another man was threatened and his car was struck by a hatchet, City Police report.

Sean McLarty of Wilcox Avenue is charged with mischief, threatening death, assault with a weapon and driving while prohibited.

Police say McLarty got into an argument with the other male at an undisclosed location in the west end.

When the other man didn't leave his vehicle it was struck by the hatchet, causing about $800 in damage.

The victim was known to the accused, police said.

McLarty will be in court July 5.
