Handgun, ammo, cocaine found in Ron Rennison's vehicle

NEWS RELEASE

********************* Yesterday morning, at approximately 1:35 a.m., City Police officers stopped a vehicle on Pim Street.

It is alleged that while the officers were talking to the male driver they observed a handgun in the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding a small calibre handgun, a loaded gun magazine and two boxes of ammunition.

Officers also located a small amount of a drug, believed to be cocaine, in the vehicle.

The driver, Ronald James Rennison, age 43, of 1459 Third Line East, was arrested and will be appearing in bail court today at 10 a.m.

Mr. Rennison is charged with: 1. unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon

2. unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle

3. possession of restricted firearm with ammunition

4. breach of probation (two counts)

5. possession for the purpose of trafficking

6. possession of firearm while prohibited
