City Police have concluded their investigation into possibly tainted candy handed out last Halloween in the Broadview Avenue area.

The 'rocket candies' had allegedly led to a burning sensation and bleeding of the mouth.

The following is today's announcement from City Police: ************************* Possible tainted Halloween candy investigation concluded

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - (January 12) - Investigation services with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service concluded their investigation into this complaint on January 5, 2009.

The candy had been sent to the Center of Forensic Science in Sault Ste. Marie on November 5, 2008 for analysis.

The results of the analysis results were forwarded to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service on January 5, 2009.

The results revealed that no other material other than sugar was identified.

At this time, there is no further evidence to suggest that the rocket candy was tainted.
