************************* Talking on cell phone nets several charges for local male

ELLIOT LAKE, ON - October 29, 2010, while on general patrol an officer of the East Algoma OPP noted a male talking on a cell phone while driving a vehicle.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and though investigation the driver of Elliot Lake was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the following:

- Drive while under suspension

- Drive motor vehicle while using a hand-held wireless communication device

- Fail to notify change of address.

************************* Firearm stolen from break, enter and theft

ELLIOT LAKE, ON - Sometime between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on October 29, 2010, unknown subject(s) entered a residence on Hergott Avenue.

Investigation revealed that while away from the house someone entered and removed the following items:

- A Remington pump shotgun

- Over $2,000

- Medication: oxicontin and percocets - (One) male watch - (One) female ring

- (One) wallet.

Anyone with information regarding the above theft is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Any information that leads to the arrests or identity of persons responsible can lead to a cash reward.
