************************ Motorcycle crash injures one

Echo Bay, Ont. - A collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck sent the rider of the motorcycle to hospital.

On Sunday April 16 at about 5 p.m. a motorcycle was travelling on Church Street in Echo Bay.

The driver of a pickup truck did not see the bike and pulled out of a private driveway into the path of the motorcycle.

The bike struck the truck and the driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the motorcycle and landed on the opposite side of the roadway.

The driver was taken to Sault Area Hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, 32-year-old Jena Ferguson, of Echo Bay, has been charged with failing to yield from a private drive, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as 49-year-old Guy Pitre of Sault Ste. Marie.
