Guy arrested after handgun incident downtown

*********************** A 24-year-old male was arrested and charged on the 9th of July with one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, one count of possession of a concealed weapon, two counts of assault with a weapon, one count of break and enter and commit an offence, two counts of criminal harassment, one count of obstruct justice, one count of use a firearm during the commission of an offence.

It is alleged that on the 9th of July the accused attended at a downtown address where his ex-girlfriend was visiting.

It is alleged that that accused entered the residence in the early morning hours while everyone was sleeping.

It is alleged that the accused was showing a knife to persons in the home and also produced a handgun.

The accused refused to leave until the victim advised that the police were being called.

It is a further alleged that the accused told one of the persons in the residence to lie to the police and advise that someone else had committed the crimes.

No one was physically harmed in the incident and the accused was taken into police custody without incident.
