************************* Assault charges for local male

ELLIOT LAKE, ON - The East Algoma OPP has charged a local male after an incident at a local grocery store.

While an off-duty officer was at a local grocery store, he was approached and allegedly assaulted by the suspect.

Charged with assault is Marcel Fortin (71) of Elliot Lake.

Fortin is scheduled to appear in court in Elliot Lake on April 8, 2008.
