New fires
 
A quiet day today in the region with no new fire starts confirmed as of the time of this update.
 
Existing fires
 
Wawa 38 was confirmed yesterday. 

The fire is currently receiving suppression action and listed as being held, which means it is not likely to spread under prevailing and forecasted conditions. Wawa 38 is 3.0 hectares in size and located north of Mishibishu and Mishi Lakes.
 
Chapleau 38 was also confirmed yesterday. 

The 0.1 hectare fire is now out.
 
Wawa 36 was a 0.2 hectare fire northeast of Manitouwadge that is now out.
 
MNR providing suppression action on Wainfleet Bog fire.
 
MNR staff in the Northeast Region continue to work with local officials to manage Guelph 1, a fire burning in the Wainfleet Bog near Port Colborne.
 
Guelph 1 facts
 
Three FireRanger crews along with an Incident commander have been on site since Friday providing suppression action.

Crews are making significant headway and continue to work on building a perimeter of hose line around the fire.

The fire is classified as not under control and will continue to be classified as not under control until a perimeter of hose surrounds the fire.

The fire was mapped at approximately 13.0 hectares.

An estimated 65,000 gallons of water per day are being pumped on the fire.
 
Regional fire activity facts
 
There are currently 19 active fires in the Northeast Region burning a total of 49,291.7 hectares.

To date, 811 fires in the Northeast Region have burnt 51,119.7 hectares.
 
Fire hazard

There are currently no Restricted Fire Zones in place by the MNR in the Northeast Region; however, municipalities may have fire bans in place, so please ensure to check with them before doing any outdoor burning. 

Ontario Parks may also have their own restrictions in place for each campground.
