Twenty-nine-year-old David Roberts from Manitouwadge was convicted today of aggravated assault in last September's stabbing on a Greyhound Bus near White River.

Roberts pleaded guilty to stabbing a 20-year-old Japanese exchange student from University of Saskatchewan.

The victim was sleeping when he received a one-inch stab wound in his chest and two superficial wounds, the Sault Star reports.

None of the wounds were considered life-threatening.

Roberts had been put on the Greyhound in Wawa by police after a number of incidents including being caught on someone's roof there and two police-escorted visits to hospital.

At one point, he said he believed people were watching him and he was given medicine.

Roberts also pleaded guilty to two charges of breach of probation.

His case is being heard in the Sault.

Roberts, whose sentencing is scheduled for March 23, has remained in custody since the attack on September 21.
