******************** Identity of fatal crash suspect released

Heyden, Ont. - Sault Ste. Marie OPP have identified the accused person who is charged as result of a fatal crash last night.

At about 10:15 p.m. last night emergency crews were called to Highway 17 near the MTO truck inspection station in Heyden.

The police investigation so far is indicating that a southbound pickup truck crossed the centerline into the path of a northbound motorcycle.

As a result of the investigation the driver of the pickup truck has been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death.

He is identified as 26-year-old Sigmund Gebhart of Kelly Creek Road in Goulais River.

He has been remanded into custody for a bail hearing tomorrow morning in Sault Ste. Marie.

The name of the victim in this crash will not be released until all next of kin have been notified.

The victim is a 51-year-old man from Goulais River.

Police and family members have not yet been able to locate other family members in Southern Ontario.

This investigation is still ongoing.
