************************* Shoplifting arrest

Twenty-one-year-old Riccardo Policicchio of #17-1001 Second Line West was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 4:18 p.m. yesterday and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that the accused was wanted for a theft from the Sport Chek store in the Cambrian Mall from the 11th of November when he attended at the store and stole a pair of Nike runners and a pair of sport performance goggles [not exactly as illustrated].

The accused is to appear in court on the 20th of December. ************************* Domestic-related arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 23-year-old male on the 15th of November at 8:05 p.m. during a vehicle stop on Salisbury Avenue and charged him with one count of breach of a release order and three counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 15th of November, officers stopped and checked a vehicle on Salisbury Avenue.

At the time, the driver, the accused, was in found to company of a female that he was on recognizance and probation conditions not to be with due to previous domestic related incidents.

Further, he was to keep the peace and be good.

The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

************************* Mischief reports

A rock was thrown through a residence window in the 300 block of Albert Street West.

************************* Break and enters and thefts - A garage on Margaret Street was entered – nothing was reported taken.

- A construction compound in the 800 block of Old Goulais Bay Road was entered on the 7th of November. Two spools of wire were reported stolen.

- A GT Outpost Mountain bike was stolen from the 600 block of Old Goulais Bay Road.

- Vehicles were broken into in parking lots in the 100 block of East Street, 600 block of Albert Street East in the 200 block Queen Street East, on King Street and on Great Northern Road, one on Dun Robin Bay and one on Caddy Avenue. Items stolen included, purses, a passport, cash and a GPS. Once again, City Police would like to remind the public not leave valuables in your vehicles. If you leave valuable items in your vehicle, the chances your vehicle will get broken into increase greatly. Very few auto break-ins are "random." The thieves usually see something that has been left inside. Valuable items that thieves target are wallets, GPS units, MP3 players, credit cards, money, purses, packages and so forth. If you can't take the items with you, secure them in a safe place in your vehicle, like a locked glove compartment or your trunk. Police ask the public if they see anyone suspicious or that appear to be checking vehicles, please contact City Police.
