Gordon Leonard charged with fraud and forgery

******************* 39-year-old Gordon Leonard of no fixed address was arrested on the 17th of February in the late afternoon.

It is alleged that the accused attempted to cash a stolen cheque at a local business.

The employees from the business contacted the person named on the cheque and confirmed that the cheque had been stolen and that the victim had not authorized anyone to cash the cheque.

It is alleged that the accused also signed the victim's name on the back of the cheque.

When officer attended at the business, they also arrested the accused on a number of outstanding warrants.

Mr. Leonard has been charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of fraud and one count of uttering a forged document in relation to the cheque.

The accused was also arrested on outstanding warrants for one count of break and enter and commit an offence, one count of breach of probation and one count of fail to appear in court.
