Alberta country music singer/ songwriter Gord Bamford gives back to support St. Mary’s College with performance at the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre on March 26

Is It Friday Yet? Canadian tour dates start March 15

TORONTO - Gord Bamford continues to work tirelessly giving back to communities and groups across Canada.

His efforts through The Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation has raised over $800,000 to date and has helped support groups such as Big Brothers and Sisters, Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Make a Wish, McMaster Children’s Hospital (Hamilton) along with many regional charities and initiatives.

For his upcoming tour stop in Sault Ste Marie, Gord Bamford has partnered with St. Mary’s College and $10 from every ticket sold for the performance at the Kiwanis Community Threatre Centre on March 26 will be donated to St. Mary’s College to “Support Arts, Athletics and Enrichment Opportunities for students.“

Gord is a big believer in supporting local communities and continues to look for opportunities to give back to the people that support him and his music.

On March 15, 2012 Gord Bamford is set to embark on a national 24-date Canadian tour (Eastern Canada Dates announced below) in support of his major label debut Is It Friday Yet? (Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc.), in stores March 6, 2012.

Two years after dazzling country music fans with his 4th studio release, 2010’s Day Job, featuring Top 10 singles Day Job, Hank Williams Lonesome, Put Some Alcohol On It, and My Daughter’s Father (#1 Spun Canadian song in 2011 with over 10,000 spins according to Nielsen BDS Canada’s Year end Country airplay chart), Gord Bamford is back with his 5th studio release and major label debut Is It Friday Yet?

The album’s first single (streaming link below) and title track was serviced to Canadian Country radio on January 9 receiving heavy adds out of the box.

Is It Friday Yet?, a vintage Bamford anthem, was the second most added song overall and at Canadian country radio after only two weeks.

"It's always exciting and it's always scary finishing new material, and knock on wood because we've had a lot of success with the last two records, but I think this is the best sounding set of music I've ever recorded and in terms of songs and qualities, it's probably the best album I've ever done," states a humble Bamford when asked about the new record.

Is It Friday Yet? contains 13 yet-to-be Bamford classics, and songs like Leaning On A Lonesome Song, a very personal song for Bamford, may be one of the best songs he has penned to date.

Must Be A Woman, a fun song written with Byron Hill/JB Rudd, explores “life of the party” stereotypes as they find love and stop hanging with the boys captures Bamford at his playful best.

Bamford attests: “Must Be A Woman is definitely a song that sounds like the next single. We played a private show recently and everyone went nuts over that song. It was a good sign! When you sit around and joke with the boys, and they say 'Oh I can't come out tonight” or 'I've got to...' Well, we know why…it must be a woman!! It must be the girlfriend!!”

The upcoming tour will see Gord Bamford perform in cities large and small starting in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia and continuing across Canada.

Be sure to catch Gord Bamford’s electrifying live performance as he unveils new songs from Is It Friday Yet? to his loyal fans across Canada.

With over 16 years of experience writing, performing and endlessly traversing the Canadian landscape earning fans, this independent singer/songwriter is at a level very few Canadian artists, country or otherwise, have reached.

Following the massive success of his 4th release, 2010’s Day Job, which garnered five CCMAs out of an unbelievable 15 CCMA nominations for Bamford, his band and management team, Is It Friday Yet? raises the bar yet again.

Gord Bamford, with the help of a major label push, is poised to take his latest release to the next level.
