************************* Vehicle in ditch leads to impaired driving charge

DENIS TOWNSHIP, ON - (January 12) - On Sunday, January 11 at approximately 8 p.m., Sault Ste. Marie OPP officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Lakeshore Drive in Denis Township.

A 2002 Chevrolet pickup was travelling eastbound on Lakeshore Drive when it ended up in the snow bank.

The driver had left the scene on foot but was located by an off-duty police officer on the roadway.

The driver was displaying obvious signs of impairment.

Arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of fail to provide a breath sample under the Criminal Code is 64-year-old Giuseppe Di-Sisto of 487 Lakeshore Drive in Dennis Township.

Di-Sisto was issued a 90 day licence suspension and released on a promise to appear for court on March 2, 2009.
