Girl, 12, charged with knife assault at group home

************************* A 12-year-old female was arrested on the 25th of March at 10:35 a.m. and charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of threaten death or bodily harm and two counts of assault.

It is alleged that on the 25th of March at approximately 9:50 a.m. at a local youth group home, the accused made threatening gestures with a knife towards two of the youth workers and made threats to kill one of them.

It is further alleged that she bit one worker in the arm area and punched the other in the face.

Both victims received non-life threatening injuries.

Police attended and located the accused a short time later walking in the area of the group home.

The accused is to appear in court on the 6th of May.
