************************* Vehicle stop for speeding leads to drug charge

HWY 17 GARDEN RIVER FIRST NATION, ON - A traffic stop for speeding on Highway 17 East yesterday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. resulted in one male being arrested for possession of a narcotic under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

While the vehicle was stopped, the officer detected an odour of a narcotic that resulted in a search of the vehicle and a seizure of 154 grams of marijuana.

Arrested and charged is 45-year-old Georges Esteves of Toronto, Ontario.

Esteves was released on a recognizance to appear in court on July 30, 2008. *************************
