************************* Traffic stop finds impaired driver

ECHO BAY, ON. - An early-morning traffic stop in Echo Bay has found another person drinking and driving.

On Sunday April 8 at about 1 a.m. an officer with Sault Ste. Marie OPP stopped a vehicle in Echo Bay for a traffic violation.

The driver showed signs that he was drinking.

He was given a roadside breath test and then returned to the Sault Ste. Marie OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of these tests it was [allegedly] found that the driver was well over the legal limit to be driving.

Twenty-year-old Gary James Reed of Elizabeth Street in Echo Bay has been charged with one count of driving while over the legal limit contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

Mr. Reed will appear in court on May 8 to answer to his charge.
