Funeral arrangements announced for Britta Malette

The following announcement was issued by the Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

************************* Britta Malette, formerly of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away unexpectedly in her Port Huron home on Wednesday July 22.

Britta was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on June 27, 1983.

She was 26 years old.

Britta was a devoted and loving mother to her three-year-old daughter Paris, who was her greatest inspiration in life.

She grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and was very active in athletics, especially hockey.

Britta was very privileged to have been brought up in the combined programs of the Sault Michigan and Algoma Women’s Hockey Associations and always spoke highly of the many dedicated coaches and players who influenced her.

Britta loved animals, particularly dogs, and was an advocate for animal rights and rescue.

She also loved art and music.

Britta was a free spirit who will be remembered for her bright smile and optimistic outlook.

She is survived by her daughter Paris, her parents William Malette, Carol Brunk Malette, her brother Charles Malette, many family members and loved one, along with her dog Chopper.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday August 6 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s ProCathedral Church in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Father Sebastian Kavumkal will be the celebrant.

Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
