Sarah Positano shot dead in Ohio

22-year-old Sarah Positano, an Ontario Saultite attending Kent State University, has been fatally shot in Kent, Ohio. The young woman was taken hostage by a recently discharged soldier armed with an assault-type rifle.

22-year-old Sarah Positano, an Ontario Saultite attending Kent State University, has been fatally shot in Kent, Ohio.

The young woman was taken hostage by a recently discharged soldier armed with an assault-type rifle.

44-year-old James Trimble was found wearing camouflage and hiding in the house where Positano's body was found,

He was charged Saturday with three counts of aggravated murder.

The two other counts relate to the shooting deaths Friday of two other people in Trimble's house, which was near the home in which Positano was held and shot.

The bodies of 43-year-old Renee Bauer and her seven-year-old son Dakota Bauer were found by police around 9 p.m. Friday in Trimble's home.

Police spotted the soldier nearby but he initally evaded them.

Trimble fired several shots at police and then entered a home where he took Positano hostage.

A SWAT team entered the dwelling several hours later and found Sarah dead and Trimble trying to hide.

Renee and Dakota Bauer were believed to be living with Trimble.

Sarah Positano is described by acquaintances as an outgoing woman who volunteered as a student assistant on Kent State's gymnastics coaching staff.
