Frank Donnelly (shown) sure spent a lot of time around Sault Collegiate Institute.

Donnelly attended the now-demolished "school on the hill" from 1945 to 1950.

He was a teacher there from 1955 to 1964.

Then, he returned as principal of the place from 1972 to '79.

Donnelly was one of about 1,000 SCI alumni who rocked the Bushplane Heritage Centre Friday night as the school's 100th anniversary reunion kicked off with a waterfront wine-and-cheese reception.

Author Morley Torgov was there.

So was Gene Ubriaco, who's played for the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins, Oakland Seals and Chicago Blackhawks, and currently is director of hockey operations and assistant general manager of the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves.

Both managed to avoid the SooToday paparazzi assigned to last night's kick-off event.
