Because of a shortage of volunteers, Shaw was experimenting with a new way of cablecasting using fixed cameras without operators.

They could no longer do many of the usual close-up shots of City councillors or staff, so the mayor's face was seen a lot more, even when others were speaking.

Mayor Rowswell asked anyone interested in volunteering to please contact Shaw TV.
