Love blossoms in Blind River

It's never a good idea to make drunken, unwanted advances to women and then follow them to the police station as they file complaints against you. It might also be wise to avoid attacking the police cruisers while you're there.

It's never a good idea to make drunken, unwanted advances to women and then follow them to the police station as they file complaints against you.

It might also be wise to avoid attacking the police cruisers while you're there.

We received the following this morning from the East Algoma OPP:

********************** Intoxicated - harassment leads to arrest

(Blind River, Ont.) - A 23-year-old female was socializing with friends when she began being harassed by a 19-year-old male.

She was at a local restaurant when she fended off unwanted advances by the male.

She left and was followed to a residence where she was bothered and harassed again. When the male party refused to leave the victim walked to the O.P.P. station where she reported the incident.

The intoxicated male followed her to the police station making easy for the cops to track him down.

While waiting for the girl to make her complaint the intoxicated male kicked at a police car in the parking lot but did not cause any damage.

He ran and hid in a ditch when the police exited the building but was followed and arrested.

East Algoma O.P.P. have charged 19-year-old Ryan Joseph Calhoun of Listowel, Ontario with two counts of causing a disturbance by impeding or molesting other persons under the Criminal Code and one count of Intoxicated in Public under the Liquor Licence Act.

Calhoun is to appear in court in Blind River on 07 Oct. 2004.
