Two students were burned yesterday at St. Mary's High School after they were assaulted with ignited spray from an aerosol container.

A 14-year-old has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation.

City Police were called to the school at 11:50 a.m., advised that the student sprayed an aerosol container toward the others while igniting the spray.

Both were burned. One student received medical attention at the hospital for minor injuries.

The charged youth is being held for bail court on Monday.

On Friday, two 14-year-olds were charged after a gun was pointed Thursday at students at St. Francis Elementary School on Brookfield Avenue.

One student is reported to have pulled out a gun in the school library, showed it to other students, and then started to point it at them.

Police described the weapon as a small "Saturday-night special" type of handgun.

It was seized by principal Mario Filice.

No ammunition was found with the St. Francis gun, police said.
