************************** Two persons arrested and charged for possession of stolen truck involved in single-motor vehicle collision on Saturday night

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested two persons in relation to a stolen vehicle from Saturday night.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on January 29 the complainant called police from his residence on Morrison Avenue reporting that his Chevy truck, that he had left unattended and running in his driveway to warm up, had been stolen.

At 6:37 p.m. police received a call regarding a single-motor vehicle collision on John Street at Byrne Avenue involving a truck that had lost control and struck the front porch of a house.

Officers arrived and discovered that the vehicle involved was the stolen truck and that the three occupants that were inside the vehicle had fled from the scene on foot.

Police commenced an investigation and as a result arrested and charged two persons.

Melissa Elkin, age 27, #2-239 Wallace Terrace was arrested at her residence at 8:37 p.m. that evening and charged with one count possession of stolen property.

She is to attend in court on February 28.

Dylan Jocko, age 26, of no fixed address was arrested at a Wellington Street West residence at 3:40 a.m. January 30 and also charged with one count of possession of stolen property.

He is appearing in bail court this morning. There were no injuries reported in this collision and the front stairs and some siding of the residence on John Street were reported damaged.

The truck received minor damaged to the front end.
