Going green is starting to catch on in many people's lives but it's something that has been part of the Valenti family for more than 20 years.

As owners of Designed Roofing Inc. the 35-person staff specializes in roofing systems by Sarnafil, a Swiss manufacturer with leadership in energy and environmental design (LEED) standards.

Two-thirds of their employees have been with the company for 10 years or more.

While this employment longevity is a rarity in the industry, Frank Valenti, family patriarch and majority owner credits premium wage packages and competitive pension plans as well as the strong sales seen in recent years without sacrificing worker safety as the success recipe.
