This was Acting Sergeant Albert Williams' fourth trip to the podium to accept the Chamber of Commerce Police Officer of the Year Award for Garden River Detachment of the Anishinabek Police Service.

But it was Jarrett William's first time seeing his dad accept an award.

Here's what Anishinabek Police Service had to say about Williams.

************************ The Anishinabek Police Service has selected Acting Sergeant Albert Williams of the Garden River Detachment as the recipient of this year's Officer of the Year Award.

Acting Sergeant Williams was chosen for his dedication to his detachment and the needs of the community.

The Garden River Detachment has been operating with a shortage of human resources for quite some time.

Acting Sergeant Williams assumed the role of sergeant in November 2007.

Since that time, he has occupied both the role of sergeant of this detachment as well as he continues to do his regular shifts as an officer.

In July of this summer, the Garden River Detachment hired a cadet officer and Acting Sergeant Williams took it upon himself to be this new recruit's coach officer.

He has displayed true commitment to serving his community by realizing that to assume a full-time role of sergeant would leave his detachment short-staffed.

This past summer Acting Sergeant Williams and spouse Jodi celebrated the birth of a new son, Jarrett.

With the birth of a new baby and his demanding career, he has revealed exceptional capability to balance his work and home life.
