Toddler in stroller badly hurt on Northern Ave (8 photos)

************************* Yesterday evening at approximately 5:25 p.m. City Police were called to investigate a motor vehicle/ pedestrian collision on Northern Avenue.

At the time of the incident a mother was pushing a stroller containing her three-year-old son, across Northern Avenue from the south side to the north side.

As she got halfway across a vehicle in the middle lane stopped.

The mother continued to cross.

A vehicle travelling in the extreme north lane did not see her crossing and struck the stroller as it entered the north lane.

The boy suffered serious injuries and had to be transported to hospital by ambulance.

City Police are still investigating this collision.

Any witnesses to this incident are asked to contact the Sault Ste Marie Police Traffic Services at 949-6300 ext 382.
