************************ Mayor Rowswell's response to double homicide
(Sault Ste. Marie, ON) - Mayor John Rowswell has expressed the shock and concern of the whole community upon hearing of the double homicide that occurred in the City's West End early this morning.
Mayor Rowswell advises that upon learning of the incident, he was immediately in touch with Police Chief Bob Davies to ascertain how and why such a tragic event could occur in Sault Ste. Marie.
"Chief Davies has assured me that all necessary officers have been deployed to investigate this tragedy and are working diligently to discover the answers to these questions," says Rowswell.
The Mayor wishes to reassure the community that an investigation is underway and that there is no threat to public safety as the accused individual is in police custody.
