So far, little is known about today's military action in Iraq that freed Sault Ste. Marie's James Loney and two of his Christian Peacemaker Teams co-workers.

Associated Press is quoting the Iraqi Interior Ministry as saying that the hostages were freed by a joint British-U.S. operation "in a rural area northwest of Baghdad, between the towns of Mishahda, 20 miles north of Baghdad, and the western suburb of Abu Ghraib, 12 miles from downtown."

"There were indeed no gunshots fired," Doug Pritchard of Canadian Peacemaker Teams said from Toronto. "There were no captors present at the time the men were found."
