The U.S. military has decided to close its infamous Abu Ghraib prison, media reports indicate this afternoon.

All prisoners held there will be transfered to other jails in Iraq.

Sault Ste. Marie's James Loney, who was involved in documenting abuses at the facility two months before they were reported by the mainstream media, remains in the hands of kidnappers more than 100 days after he was abducted.
