NEWS RELEASE

VISIONS OF A RENEWED EARTH

********************* On March 16 Visions of a Renewed Earth will be holding a special vigil marking more than 100 days since the Christian Peacemaker Team members Tom Fox, Jim Loney, Harmeet Sooden and Norman Kember were abducted in Baghdad by "The Swords of Righteousness Brigade."

The event will be held in the Doc Brown Lounge at Algoma University and will begin at 7 p.m.

Vigil participants will also remember as we near the 3rd anniversary of the invasion of Iraq the more than 14,000 Iraqis that are currently held without charges by occupying military forces.

There will be a time of informal discussion immediately following the vigil.

People can learn more about CPT's work and give donations to support their efforts.

Local groups and citizens will share their ideas and efforts to bring about positive change.

Fair trade coffee and snacks will be served.

Visions of a Renewed Earth was started by young people in Sault Ste. Marie to better connect the many people in our community bringing about positive social, ecological or environmental change.

By working together to increase awareness, build support and mobilize effort, the people of the Sault can help each other to bring about a better world.
