Freddie Mac CFO found dead. Suicide suspected

David Kellermann, acting chief financial officer of Freddie Mac since September, has been found dead in his Virginia home.

Early media reports indicate that the case is being treated as a probable suicide.

Freddie Mac is the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, a U.S. federal government-sponsored enterprise that buys mortgages on the secondary market and sells them as mortgage-backed securities to investors.

It was placed under the conservatorship of the Federal Housing Finance Agency in September of last year.
