************************* Four men in custody after death of Manitoulin man

Manitoulin OPP assist UCCM Anishnaabe Police in homicide investigation

M’CHIGEENG, ON – On Saturday February 20 at 2:20 a.m. UCCM Anishnaabe Police along with officers from the Manitoulin OPP responded to a disturbance located at 13 Park Street, M’Chigeeng First Nation.

An altercation had taken place among a group of young men.

Officers arrived at the scene and located an 18 year old man with serious injuries, he later died at the Mindemoya hospital.

Four Manitoulin men have been arrested in relation to this incident.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing.

Names are not being released at this time.

The investigation is being conducted under the direction of Detective Inspector Ken Leppert of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch with members of the UCCM Anishnaabe Police, Manitoulin OPP officers and detectives from the OPP Northeast Regional Crime Unit.

Members of the OPP Forensic Identification Unit are also on scene to assist with this investigation.
