****************************** Mazzuca new Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League Commissioner

The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) has announced that Sudbury area businessman Robert Mazzuca is the new commissioner for the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League effective immediately.

The Capreol, Ontario native will work alongside former commissioner Hector Seguin who will stay on as the NOJHL Administrative Officer.

Mazzuca, played in the league with the North Bay Trappers in the late 1970’s and moved to play in the OHL as a captain of the Sudbury Wolves and also played with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the early 1980’s. Mazzuca will implement a number of new programs including the start of a NOJHL Education Endowment fund for NOJHL players to access as soon as this season. “I’m excited to take on this new venture,“ said the St. Francis Xavier University Graduate. “I am passionate about the game of hockey in Northern Ontario, I live here and I played here. The NOJHL faces challenges and I hope to bring more respect to this underrated junior hockey league.” Mazzuca was chosen by the NOJHL Board of Directors through a two-month comprehensive interview process.
