Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre requests 12 crews from Ontario
There is currently one active fire in the East Fire Region.
Sudbury 13, north of Cartier, is being held at 0.8 hectares in size.
Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC) requested 12 crews from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources to assist in Manitoba with fire suppression efforts.
The East Fire Region is supplying five FireRanger crews and one agency representative, who will be departing for Manitoba this afternoon.
Under the Forest Fires Prevention Act of Ontario, day burning of brush or grass is not allowed.
You may start a fire no sooner than two hours before sunset and it must be put it out no later than two hours after sunrise.
Choose a safe site, keep the fire small and never leave it unattended.
Remember to ensure the fire is put dead out before leaving the site.
