************************* Currently there have been no new fires reported for July 12 in the East Fire Region.

There were two new fires confirmed for July 11.

Sault Ste. Marie 7 was 0.1 hectares, while Wawa 15 was 0.5 hectares.

Both fires were caused by lightning and have both been called out.

There are 10 active fires throughout the East Fire Region.

The forest fire hazard is moderate to high in the Sudbury area, extending west to Sault Ste. Marie, and north along Lake Superior up to Caramat.

The rest of the East Fire Region has a low hazard.

With warm weather forecasted, the fire hazard is expected to increase over the next couple days.

As a reminder, brush and grass fires are to be started no sooner than two hours before sunset and put out no later than two hours after sunrise.

Outdoor fires must be attended at all times and put dead out before leaving the site.
