Foosball-playing Internet geeks lauded for great workplace

Lucidia Studios, a Sault Ste. Marie web design and creative services company, has been recognized by Northern Ontario Business magazine as one of the ten best places to work in the north.

In its current issue,, the magazine praises the local firm for its open-concept work environment, employee profit-sharing program and the regular foosball matches in the Lucidia lunchroom.

Northern Ontario Business also liked Lucidia's corporate outings, which bring together staffers like Sya Van Geest and Dave Pitcher (shown) for canoe and hiking trips, overnight stays at area resorts and after-work get-togethers.

Last year, Lucidia was recognized with the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce's Entrepreneur/ Business of the Year Award.

That award recognizes small businesses that demonstrate a progressive attitude to employee relations, a positive public image, and a reputation for excellence in customer service.
