************************* Moose/ van collision results in injuries

WHITE RIVER, ON – Today at approximately 1:20 a.m., Superior East OPP in White River were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, 15 kilometres south of White River.

Investigation revealed that a northbound 2001 Chevrolet Venture van containing five occupants struck a moose on a curve and then entered the west ditch.

Occupants of the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Lady Dunn Health Sciences Centre in Wawa by ambulance for treatment.

The driver of the van, Azad Ragab, age 37 of London, Ontario received head injuries in the collision and is presently being treated in Wawa.

The four other family members, three females and one male ranging in age from two years to 36 years from London, Ontario sustained minor injuries and were treated and released from hospital.

This incident remains under investigation.
