************************* Special board meeting scheduled for February 12

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI - The Sault Tribe Board of Directors has announced a special meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 12 at 6 p.m.

The meeting will be at the Kewadin Casino and Convention Center in Sault Ste. Marie.

Topics for this meeting’s agenda include resolutions titled 2008 Election Announcement, Clarification Conflict of Interest-Election Committee, Clarification Tribal Offices-Chapter 10, 2008 Voter Registration, and Public Release of Forensic Audit. Under new business the board will discuss the 2007 picnic, casino updates, Greenough building, Chairperson’s e-mails, Chief of Police termination, and legislation for the February 19, 2008 meeting.

A board workshop will be held prior to the meeting at the Kewadin Casino in Sault Ste. Marie beginning with a closed session from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The open workshop will begin at 1 p.m. on the Fish Marketing Grant followed by Budgets at 1:30 p.m., and Criminal Code at 2 p.m.

Special meetings are typically held the second and last Tuesday of the month.

Special meetings may be called from time to time by the chairperson or by majority vote of the board of directors.
