Fire ban lifted in Johnson Township

May 25 update:

The fire ban for Johnson Township has been lifted as of May 25, 2018.

All previous burning permits are now reinstated and new ones may be obtained at the Johnson Township office.

May 16 original story:

All burning permits in Johnson Township are suspended for the time being.

The township is currently under a fire ban that took effect today as per Fire Chief Ron Smith.

Earlier today, the Municipality of Huron Shores also announced a fire ban.
