Two years ago, the Canadian Press voted him Business Newsmaker of 2006.
At 6:30 p.m. on Monday, federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty (shown) will officially open the Sault Ste. Marie war room of Conservative candidate Cameron Ross.
The ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
During his visit to the Sault, Flaherty will also meet with an assortment of movers and shakers and media types.
Ian Shields, a low-profile but devastatingly effective political fixer imported by the party from Saskatchewan to run Ross's Sault campaign, is also expected to address local party faithful during the session with Flaherty.
Cameron Ross's Conservative headquarters is located in the former Northern Brewers retail outlet at 503 Bay Street.
