************************* Notice to PUC water customers

24-inch watermain connection status final update

This is the final update on the status of the 24-inch transmission main connections on Third Line west of Great Northern Road.

At this time, both connections have been completed and the main has been returned to service.

This ends the state of increased vulnerability to the Zone 2 water supply as the distribution system is now restored to normal status.

PUC Services would like to extend its sincere gratitude to all the many people involved in making this project the success it has been.

PUC staff and contract workers have carried out the work in a highly professional and effective manner, working extended hours over the past four days to achieve a successful outcome.

In particular we would like to thank Palmer Construction Group, Ro-Von Steel, AECOM, and PUC staff from a number of departments including Water Treatment Operations, Water Distribution and Engineering for their efforts in planning and completing the work, as well as Algoma Public Health for their support in coordinating with the nursing homes and health care providers located in the Zone 2 area.

Finally, thank you to all PUC customers for your understanding and cooperation during this event.
