Federal member holds gun registry meeting on St. Joe's

************************* MP to meet with residents of St. Joseph’s Island to discuss C-391

Candice Hoeppner will lead a town hall discussion in St. Joseph’s Island, Ontario, Saturday on the subject of her Private Member’s Bill (Bill C-391).

Hoeppner has received positive feedback from constituents in Northern Ontario about her bill to end the long-gun registry.

Hoeppner has chosen to meet with various stakeholder groups and community members to further discuss their views on the proposed legislation.

A vote on Hoeppner’s bill will be held in the House of Commons on September 22, 2010.

Ms. Hoeppner will be available for media interviews following the meeting.
