Fed up with grocery cart litter? Councillor Frank sure is

Has anyone gone down a street, anywhere in this city, and not seen a grocery cart laying on a street corner or in a ditch?

I think not.

We have a problem, as is quite evident in this picture, and something has to be done.

A resolution I brought forward should be re-visited and, in my opinion, soon.

Along with this, we have a beautiful boardwalk; we have people that toss coffee cups and plastic bottles over the side on the rocks rather than walk a couple of steps to a garbage container.

I simply want to ask: "Please, try and help keep this area clean. With very little effort, we can keep our city clean and it just looks so much better without garbage tossed on our streets."

I ask everyone, including our City Councillors: Look for these grocery carts scattered around our beautiful city and you'll agree that we have a problem.

Hopefully, those people that remove these carts and not returning them to their respective grocery stores will think twice before they do that.

Thanks for indulging me.

If we all make a little effort, it can go a long way.

- Frank Fata, Councillor - Ward 5
