NEWS RELEASE

PRAISE @ THE PAVILION

************************* Anglican and Lutheran churches unite to offer unique worship experience

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON, June 7, 2010 - Praise @ the Pavilion, coined for its location, the Roberta Bondar pavilion, is a celebration of faith taking place on Father’s Day, Sunday June 20, 2010, at 10 a.m.

The event will begin with a eucharistic service, followed by a free BBQ, bouncy castles for the children, cotton candy, games, tugboat rides on the river and more, and is open to all.

Part of what makes Praise @ the Pavilion so unique is the coming together of the Anglican and Lutheran churches across the city.

“It’s a wonderful thing to be able to come together from different churches across the city around the Lord’s Supper to worship, fellowship, have fun, and praise God in a beautiful place,” explained Rev. Patrick McManus of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church.

A committee including members from all participating churches has been busy at work the past number of months to ensure the day offers something for everyone.

“It’s been fantastic the way everyone has pitched in and worked together to plan for Praise @ the Pavilion. We’ve even gotten the children of our parishes involved in making a special gift for all the Dad’s who come out and celebrate Father’s Day with us,” said Pamela Rayment, committee member.
