******************** Fatal workplace accident under investigation

(Kirkland Lake, ON) – Kirkland Lake OPP and the Ministry of Labour are investigating a workplace accident that resulted in an employee being fatally injured.

The accident took place at the Kirkland Lake Gold Incorporated - Number 3 Shaft.

The mine is located two kilometres east of Swastika, Ontario.

The incident occurred at approximately 8 a.m. on the 14th of December.

Both the Kirkland Lake Fire Department and Kirkland Lake Ambulance Service attended and assisted at the scene.

The joint investigation into the cause of the accident continues.

Fatal workplace accident update

(Kirkland Lake, Ont.) – The victim of the fatal workplace accident at Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. has been positively identified as Mr. Igor Lobko, age 47, of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.

The joint investigation into the fatal accident continues.
