Sault MP Tony Martin brushed elbows with famous Canadian actors this week on Parliament Hill, including Art Hindle.

Hindle, representing the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) along with Eric Peterson of Corner Gas and Zaib Shaikh of Little Mosque on the Prairie were at Parliament Hill lobbying to change Canada's forthcoming copyright legislation, Bill C-32.

If Bill C-32 passes as is, it would legalize a number of common consumer practises including recording television programs and downloading purchased or shared material from a CD to a digital playing device.

However, ACTRA feels value should be placed on such copies in the form of a digital media levy similar to that applied to blank CDs and cassette tapes.
