SAULT [MICHIGAN] AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

************************* International speaker on February 8

Internationally renowned inspirational speaker and Desbarats native Craig MacFarlane [shown] will be the featured guest at the Annual Meeting of the Sault Area Chamber of Commerce on February 8 at the Lake Superior State University Cisler Center.

Craig MacFarlane has been a featured speaker to the who's who of the corporate world, including such companies as GM, Ford, Coca Cola and AT&T.

He has spoken at the Republican National Convention three times at the invitation of George Bush.

Craig's unique and inspiring story continues to have a major impact wherever he appears.

His positive and uplifting message brings audiences to their feet in North America and around the world.

Craig MacFarlane has developed into a sought-after inspirational speaker who truly "walks the talk" and is living proof of what can be done if you have the inner vision.

The Royal Bank recognized this and so did Whirlpool, IBM, and Energizer to name only a few.

He has spoken to 800 Rotary Clubs, including the Rotary International Conventions and Lions Club Conventions.

He has traveled the globe and spoken to over 2,100 schools throughout the U.S., Canada, New Zealand and Europe.

Sports teams are inspired by Craig's message.

Lou Holtz with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish requested Craig to motivate the team and so did Dennis Erickson with the Miami Hurricanes.

The word spread and Craig was in demand.

The Wisconsin Badgers, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Clemson Tigers took Craig's message and became winners.

Craig's career has brought him in touch with millions of people and he hasn't slowed down since that first speech, back when he was a teenager.

He shares his message of inner vision with everyone from corporate executives to high school students and his tower of inspiration is as fresh and exciting today as it was yesterday.

The Chamber will also feature two local businesses for the annual Historic Business Award and the F.M. [Bud] Mansfield Business of the Year.

Nominees for the Historic Business are Parker’s Hardware, Pingatore Cleaner’s and Sault Printing.

Nominees for the F.M. Mansfield Award are Jim Schmidt Financial, Lake Superior State University, Old Mission Bank and War Memorial Hospital.

************************* Note from curmudgeonly SooToday.com editor-person:

All complaints about this website's use of made-up words like 'Desbaratonians' and 'Saultbies' should be directed to [email protected]. At time of writing tonight, a Google search for the SooToday-coined 'Desbaratonian' produced only a "did not match any documents" error message. We concocted the term while trying to come up with a word that described people from Desbarats and also rhymed with "Calithumpian." Maybe CASSithumpians would have been a better choice? 'Desbarados' was considered and rejected.
